West Palm Beach Home Health Care
Everyone has adjusted in different ways to the biggest health challenge ever to our planet and its people. Individuals have seem friends and family members get sick and some have died due to Covid-19, and businesses have lost employees to the virus. Many companies have closed permanently and schools have worked through challenge to keep teaching while providing a safe environment for everyone. We have all learned lessons and certainly we will never look at life the same.
The people most vulnerable to Covid 19, the experts tell us, are the elderly. When our loved ones are nearing the sunset of their lives we must be especially careful to see they are protected against the serious effects viruses can have on them. We desperately want to help, but how?
Visits – Once everyone is properly vaccinated (with doctors clearance) it’s important to provide visits as often as possible. In-person visits when possible, or online connections can relieve loneliness and anxiety which are often also the cause of serious health issues. FaceTime on the phone is a great way to connect and it will give you the ability to not just speak, but see your loved one and that can tell a lot about how they’re doing.
Make Their Home Safe – Mobility is an issue for many senior homebound people so look around and consider ramps, grab bars in the bathroom, or non-skid mats are appropriate. Clutter can be a hazard for tripping, so try to keep the home orderly and neat. Make sure there is enough lighting in the home. Remember that what you see may not be what they see.
Hire Help – There are some things that you might not have the time or the ability to do, and that is why professional home health care agencies exist. From cleaning and companion services to nursing duties, it is wise to have someone with experience look in on your loved one on a regular basis. Cost is always a concern, so if you have questions about that we are here to answer questions.
